Jeep is started with the preparations of the production of the Renegade Plug-in Hybrid. The stekkerhybride is the beginning of 2020 on the market.

Jeep goes to the plug. The Renegade is the first model of the brand that has a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Jeep reports that the preparations for the production in Italy began. Next year, build the brand already has a few pre-production models and the beginning of 2020, the first copies at the dealers.

Details about the powertrain are still not there. Probably need the new 1.3 turbo engine as a base, supplemented with an electric motor, an automatic gearbox and a small battery pack that allows the compact SUV 50 km fully electric drive.

The Renegade is the first Jeep with a plug, but certainly not the last. Parent company FCA earlier this year announced that there are currently twelve different powertrains are being developed that one way or the other electrified. Of all the Jeep models coming between now and 2022, at least one electrified version. After the Renegade probably follow quickly the new Wrangler as a second plug-in hybrid of the brand.
